Upscape, LLC is a licensed Connecticut Home Improvement Contractor (registration HIC.0706288) and carries $1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate in general liability insurance, plus professional liability coverage. All electrical installation is performed by our licensed Connecticut electrical contractor, who carries their own insurance and pulls any required permits. Proof of registration and insurance is available on request.

  • No — and we're upfront about that. Landscape lighting installation is regulated as electrical work in Connecticut, so every install is performed by our licensed Connecticut electrical contractor, who I work alongside on each job. Upscape, LLC itself is a licensed Connecticut Home Improvement Contractor, and we handle the design, project management, customer experience, and ongoing service. The licensed install is a feature of how we work, not an exception.

  • We specialize exclusively in low-voltage (12V) landscape lighting — the safe, energy-efficient standard for residential outdoor lighting.

  • Very little. All fixtures we install use high-efficiency LED technology, typically consuming 1–7 watts per fixture. A full property lighting setup often uses less electricity than a single indoor lamp. A typical setup of 10 outdoor lights will consume ~7.2 kWh per month and cost $1-2/month to run.

  • Your fixtures carry manufacturer warranties, which we pass along to you, and we stand behind our installation. We're a local Connecticut company — if something needs attention, we're a phone call away.

  • You’ll have multiple options:

    • A simple dusk-to-dawn timer

    • Smart automation (schedules, sunrise/sunset, scenes)

    • Phone control through a smart plug

    We’ll set everything up for you and show you exactly how to use it.

  • Not much. LED fixtures should last 10+ years, and transformers are extremely reliable.
    Occasionally, you may want:

  • Not at all. We design lighting to highlight your home, not shine into windows or across property lines. Our fixtures use precise beam angles and shields to ensure beautiful, subtle illumination without glare.

  • Absolutely. Most of our clients start with the front facade or pathways and expand over time.
    Your transformer and wiring will be designed with future additions in mind.
